Amazon’s speedy Prime Now delivery service has finally made its way across the Scottish border.

To order, you’ll need the Prime Now app and an active Amazon Prime subscription. Then, for a £6.99 fee, you can choose delivery within one hour of ordering, or a choice of two-hour, same-day delivery slots between 10am and 10pm seven days a week. Some areas that don’t get one-hour delivery can still choose two-hour delivery windows, including: Motherwell, Kilmarnock, and Cumbernauld.

Prime Now is our fastest delivery option ever and we are delighted to bring it to Scotland,” said Jason Weston, Amazon Prime Now UK Director. “From today, customers in Glasgow can get the items they need quickly delivered right to the door in under an hour. Whether it’s essentials like fresh milk, nappies or even a last minute gift, customer love the convenience of delivery straight to their door in less than sixty minutes.”

Amazon says that since its June 2015 launch, Prime Now is now available to more than 30% of the UK population. It’s currently available in the following cities:

  • London
  • Birmingham
  • Newcastle
  • Manchester
  • Leeds
  • Liverpool
  • Portsmouth
  • South Yorkshire
  • Surrey

According to the US-based retail giant, one of the fastest Prime Now deliveries this month was Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End for PS4, which was ordered at 11:10am, sent out of Amazon’s hub in Leeds, and delivered at 11:20am to a postcode in Beeston – that’s an incredible 10-minute click-to-delivery time.
