Amazon Kindle First offers free books to Prime subscribers

Amazon has launched a new initiative, Kindle First, to give Prime subscribers free eBooks.

All you need to have is a Kindle or a device with the Kindle app installed, and a Prime subscription. Got all that? Then you can get one of four brand new eBook releases each month for free.

Even if you’re not a Prime customer, you can sign up for the offer for just 99p per month.

To make it extra sweet, the books that will be made available through the Kindle First initiative are done so a month ahead of their full publishing date.

If you’re wondering how the four books are selected each month, they’re carefully curated by Amazon editors. Each book is accompanied by a personal synopsis from one of those editors.

This month’s (October’s) selections are From the Cradle by Louise Voss and Mark Edwards, The Glassblower by Petra Durst-Benning and Samuel Willcocks, The Fallow Season of Hugo Hunter by Craig Lancaster, and My Sister’s Grave by Robert Dugoni.

Each selection you make will be yours to keep forever.

“Kindle First adds even more value to our Prime membership and we’re delighted to be able to offer these great titles as early exclusives to all of our customers,” said Dominic Myers, the director of Amazon Publishing.

Head on over to the Kindle First web page and, if you’re a Prime customer, you’ll be able to make your free selection straight away.
