A new leaked press render of an Alcatel OneTouch Pop tablet could suggest the likes of the Tesco Hudl will soon have a new rival.

Alcatel may be about to launch its own budget Android tablet to rival the Tesco Hudl, Argos MyTablet and other similarly priced slates.

The image comes courtesy of notorious tech tipster, @evleaks, who simply captioned the picture the “Alcatel OneTouch Pop 7-inch tablet”, without offered any indication of specs.

It is likely that the Alcatel OneTouch Pop tablet will follow the same budget Android line as the range of Alcatel OneTouch Pop smartphones.

As yet, there have been no indications as to what range of specs the Alcatel OneTouch Pop tablet will pack, but it may well be similar to that of Tesco’s slate.

What we do know is that the OneTouch Pop tablet will arrive in a range of colours, as indicated by the press image, each with removable back plates.

Tesco Hudl Features
The Tesco Hudl features a 7-inch 1,440 x 900p HD resolution IPS display with a 242ppi image density running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

It offers a battery life of around 9 hours and packs 16GB of internal storage bolstered by a microSD card slot supporting memory cards up to 32GB.

A 3-megapixel rear camera is paired with a 2-megapixel front-facing snapper, both of which are capable of capturing 720p HD video.

There is a 1.5GHz Quad-core Rockchip RK3188 processor under the hood with 1GB of RAM and Mali 400 Graphics.

The Hudl also offers Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, but lacks 3G or 4G cellular data and NFC.
