Remedy entertainment today announced the previously Xbox exclusive hit Alan Wake will be arriving on PC in the first quarter of next year.
Alan Wake arrived in mid 2010 as an Xbox exclusive and received critical acclaim for its engaging, story-driven 3rd-person shooter action.
You play the titular character Alan Wake, a thriller writer, who's investigating the disappearance of his wife. Haunted by visions of characters from his latest novel that he doesn't remember writing, the game largely takes place at night as Alan takes on his foes by keeping them at bay with light.
This setting makes for some impressive visuals, as the protagonist works his way through a largely gloomy world.
This combination has meant that ever since its launch many PC gamers have been clamouring for the game to be ported to that platform - not least because it'll look even better on the faster graphics hardware of a PC. Now those prayers have been answered.
The exact arrival date isn't yet set, nor is the price but it will be available through Steam.
