Acer toughens up the Chromebook to withstand your clumsiness

Chromebook 14

Acer has announced a new Chromebook 14 for Work, designed for those with an unfortunate penchant for destroying their tech.

The device is military grade certified (MIL-STD 810G) and can withstand drops of up to 4-feet, a claim we look forward to putting to the test.

The metal body is also covered in Vibrant Corning Gorilla Glass and the keyboard is spill-proof too.

As the laptop is designed for work, businesses will be able to custom fit the Chromebook 14 with logos and photos underneath that glass.

The enterprise-focused laptop is also certified with Google’s Chrome for Work program, meaning IT professionals will be able to keep the security on lockdown.

It’s not light on other specs either, with a 14-inch HD screen and 13-hours of battery life. It's also the first Chromebook to boast 6th generation Intel Core processors.

The device, which has 32GB of built in storage and 4GB RAM will cost $349 when it goes on sale. Acer says it’ll be available in May.
