Acer used its New York launch event to unveil a revamp to the company’s Aspire Switch line-up today.

The Taiwan-based tech giant showed off two new versions of the Aspire 10, in an effort to woo customers with added choice.

The Switch range is Acer’s hybrid line-up, which means they’re 2-in-1 tablet/laptop offerings.

“We’re excited to announce the expansion of our popular 2-in-1 notebook line with models offering more processing power and stylish new aesthetics,” said Jerry Kao, president of Acer’s Notebook group.

This flexible and practical platform is ideal for taking notes in a classroom, working on a plane or playing games while watching TV on a sofa.”

The two new versions of the Aspire Switch 10 are the Switch 10 E and the new Switch 10.

The Switch 10 E’s headline features are its 12-hour battery life and six colour options, at least according to Acer anyway.

It’s also got a textile pattern on the top cover, which we found to slightly cheapening, but it’ll suit some customers.

This model ships with two 2-megapixel cameras on the front and back, and rocks a 1280 x 800 display resolution.

It measures up at 10.31 x 7.09 x 0.43-inches, and weighs in a 630 grams when it’s in tablet mode.

The Switch 10, meanwhile, is Acer’s more swish alternative, showing off a Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

Acer’s CEO Jason Chen described it as ‘clean and beautiful and durable glass’.

Both models offer quad-core processing courtesy of Intel Atom, an IPS display, and 2GB of DDR3L RAM.

They’re also Windows 10 compatible, once the OS finally launches – expect more details come late July.

The Switch E is coming to the EMEA in May starting at 299 euros, while its swankier cousin will land in June at 449 euros.
