Acer may be plotting four Windows smartphones for September

Acer is tipped to launch not one, not two, not even three, but four new smartphones very soon.

What’s more interesting is that all four devices are mooted to be Windows smartphones.

That’s according to a tip-off from German tech site WinFuture’s editor Roland Quandt, posting on Twitter.

Quandt claims that the phones will be revealed at this year’s IFA Berlin tradeshow in early September.

It’s worth noting that Microsoft’s new Windows 10 Mobile operating system is rumoured for an autumn launch – probably September.

It’s expected that the new OS will have a number of phones launching alongside it to debut on.

These newly tipped Acer phones could be just some of the vehicles expected to showcase Microsoft’s revamped mobile OS.

A second tweet suggests the devices will be named Acer Liquid M320, M330, M530, and M630.

Unfortunately, Quandt didn’t provide details on the alleged devices, so we still don’t know what the phones will look like.

It’s also worth noting that neither Microsoft nor Acer have officially confirmed these handsets, so we should take this report with a pinch of salt.
