Acer has launched the Liquid S2, a 6-inch smartphone that comes complete with 4K recording capabilities.
The follow-up to the 5.7-inch Liquid S1, the Liquid S2 has a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM.
Currently a European exclusive, Acer Liquid S2 will touch down in October, but exact pricing has yet to be announced. Expect it to be a close rival to the recently launched LG G2.
Acer Liquid S2 Features
The Acer Liquid S2 has a 6-inch Full 1080p HD IPS display and comes complete with the speedy 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM.
In the rear there is a 13-megapixel camera that allows users to record 4K Ultra HD video or Full 1080p HD video at 60fps or with 4x slow motion action.
The rear camera has BSI sensors and LED Ring Flash, which Acer claims delivers sharper pictures regardless of the shooting environment. The panoramic feature on the Acer Liquid S2 crams 27-megapixel quality into every image as well.
Complementing this is a 2-megapixel front-facing camera with a 88-degree wide viewing angle.
Just 8.99mm thin, the Acer Liquid S2 has two Dolby Digital Plus stereo speakers and has a screen protected by Gorilla Glass 3.0.
The in-built 16GB internal memory can be bolstered by microSD cards up to 128GB in total. There’s a hearty 3300mAh battery there as well, and includes 4G LTE connectivity alongside Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC.
Running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the Acer Liquid S2 has a host of unique features included as well, which will be seen when we get some hands-on time with the 6-inch smartphone.
