It’s been shuffled. This tends to happen before big product releases due to production rates, costs, shipping and so forth, but Microsoft has finally stuck a very large pin in 2 December.
Our American brethren will get it a little earlier on the 22 November, while Japan rather amusingly will not see it until 10 December. I say amusingly because - although Microsoft (as we all know) is located in a netherworld dimension somewhere in Redmond, Washington - the Xbox is actually built in the Far East. Still, they’ve got the best mobile phones in the world over there so win some, lose some.
As for the console itself, I’m not going to run over the features for the gazillionth time, just click here for my extensive guide. The £272 price tag was confirmed last month, so we know how much and when, all we have to do now is brace ourselves for the imminent blitzkrieg of advertising.
Those of you determined to hold firm and wait for a PlayStation 3 next will do well avoid yuletide urges. Stand strong my brothers and sisters, you can do it.
