Windows Phone 7 - First Update Arriving Early 2011

Windows Phone 7 - First Update Arriving Early 2011

It may have only just been announced but Microsoft has already given a date for the first update to Windows Phone 7. It will arrive in early 2011.

For anyone that's been following the developments of Microsoft's new mobile phone operating system the reasons for this announcement will be all too obvious. Missing basics like copy and paste, tethering, and proper multitasking have caused many people to cry foul.

Sadly only copy and paste was confirmed as being fixed with the new update but fingers crossed we strongly suspect there will be more to the update when it finally arrives. There better be, anyway!

And the mystery man in the photo is....? :)

I'll be waiting until long after all this promised basic functionality actually arrives before even considering WP7. It feels like MS have been developing this platform for nigh on 40 years now...and it still looks pants and is missing vital functions at launch.

<rolls eyes>

@Chocoa: That photo is the icon for all the Social Networking built into WP7. The tagline will be: "Windows Phone 7 - Guess What I'm Touching Now? (tm)(r)"
