WWDC 2009 Dated. iPhone, Snow Leopard 8 June?

It's getting to that time of year again folks and for once Apple's not being so subtle about things...

The Cupertino giant has announced 8 - 12 June will be the days set aside for its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) for an event which "provides developers and IT professionals with in-depth technical information and hands-on learning about the powerful technologies in iPhone OS and Mac OS X from the Apple engineers who created them."

Of course, blurb aside, the real talking point of any WWDC is that it always brings with it major new product announcements. Last year we got the first official talk about Snow Leopard and the unveiling of the iPhone 3G. This year Snow Leopard is expected to be a go and the iPhone OS 3.0 launch should virtually guarantee a new handset model(s) meaning this should be one heck of a show.

Of course diehards will be flying out to San Francisco for the main event and laying out a whopping $1,595 for a three day ticket ($300 recession discount currently on offer) but you don't need to move a finger. We'll be bringing you all the coverage as it breaks though remember one thing:

We told you not to buy that iPhone 3G between now and then...
