Voodoo's OMEN(ous) Quad SLI PC

Let’s all agree on one thing before we start: Quad SLI is hysterically, ludicrously and outrageously over the top. That said, we all rather like it and appropriately so does hysterically, ludicrously and outrageously over the top enthusiast computer builder Voodoo so it’s come up with a beast called OMEN.

Featuring four GeForce 7900 series GPUs on an Asus nForce4 SLI mobo and an AMD Athlon64 FX-60 processor the Omen should be one of the fastest desktops on the planet. It has support for 32x antialiasing along with 16x anisotropic filtering and the company actively promotes gaming at a 2560 x 1600 resolution!

Storage shouldn’t be a problem either with the OMEN designed to accommodate up to four terabytes (!) of hard drive space and while it ships with 2GB of Corsair 3500LL Pro RAM, Voodoo recommends an upgrade to a perfectly insane 4GB…

Interestingly Voodoo has also taken care of the potentially deafening sound the OMEN should produce by equipping it with the company’s own F5 Liquid Cooling System and Silent Phrase radial fans. The result is apparently near silent performance. The outside looks as impressive as the inside too with Voodoo’s famous brushed, anodized and machined aluminium finish, a mirrored interior and the distinctive ‘tattoo’ designs cut into the case.

As you would expect, the downside to all of this cutting edge loveliness is the price tag with systems starting from $7,000. I had a quick juggle with the user configurable spec and managed to jump it beyond $10k without too much hassle so it is certainly a machine to separate the men from the boys… and when I say ‘men from the boys’ what I mean is the really rich from the rest of us.
