Prefer two wheels to four? Now you can look cool and know where you're going after TomTom officially unveiled the 'RIDER'.
The company's first product designed specifically for bikers, the RIDER is essentially a ruggedized GPS unit with shielded cover, toughened touch screen, glove friendly four icon user interface and waterproofing. It has a RAM mount which claims to fit "virtually all motorbikes" and comes bundled with a Cardo scala-rider Bluetooth headset for in-helmet spoken instructions.
Should you manage to squeeze a mobile phone into your leathers (the real reason you like to ride a bike – don't worry I won't tell anyone) then the Rider can also pair with this and make receiving and dialling phone calls a darn site easier than before.
“TomTom RIDER is the first ever navigation solution specifically designed for motorbikers and the world’s best-selling," said Harold Goddijn, TomTom’s CEO and winner of the Strangest Quote Ever Award.
The Rider goes on sale towards the end of May in both Regional and Western Europe mapping editions. Pricing has yet to be set but the company anticipates a £300 to £400 price range (read £299.99 Regional, £399.99 Europe).
Just remember with all that screen gawping to watch out for those car doors...
