TomTom is bringing out new, improved, versions of its One and XL satellite navigation systems. As the names suggest, the TomTom One and TomTom XL 'IQ Routes' editions add TomTom's intelligent routing to its entry level models.
TomTom reckons that IQ Routes, which use data collected on real-world travel time to provide more effective driving directions, can offer a faster route some 35 per cent of the time. IQ Routes offers different routing depending on the day, and even the time of day. And as we discovered testing the TomTom Go 930, it works a treat.
TomTom also offers Safety Alerts and Fuel Prices updates for the IQ Routes edition One and XL. A three month trial in included with the sat-navs, after which there is a yearly subscription of £34.95 to keep the TomTom's up-to-date with the latest 'safety' camera location (including mobile camera vans) and fuel price data.
The TomTom One IQ Routes edition has an SRP of £149.99 for UK and Ireland maps and £169.99 for Europe while the SRP for the TomTom XL is £189.99 for the UK and Ireland and £209.99 for European maps.
