This Week In Video No. 1

Hairstyles and fashion sense aside, we gather the overall reception to last week's launch of the new TrustedReviews Video section has been positive. So, it's with a little less trepidation and a great deal of pleasure we now launch our latest initiative, 'This Week In Video'.

Here, every Friday, we'll present a roundup of all the videos that have launched in the passed seven days. So, if you're not too keen on the idea of clicking that video link at the top of the page everyday, and aren't a fan of RSS, you can be sure you'll not miss a thing.

This week saw the release of five new videos, starting on Monday with the JVC Everio GZ-MG330. This compact hard-disk based camcorder records in standard definition and can accommodate up to 37 hours of footage. With no support for HD, it's not for the serious home movie makers among you but at just £250, it's offers superb value for the causal user.

Next up is the Boston Acoustics Solo XT, a small desktop DAB radio that's just the perfect bedside alarm clock radio for the audiophile.

We rounded out the week with a trio of notebooks starting with the great value ultra-portable Samsung-Q210. This 12.1inch model is the first Centrino 2 notebook we've reviewed and it certainly looks like a winner.

Andy then took us round the HP Pavilion dv5-1011ea, which is a much more media-centric notebook featuring, as it does, a Blu-ray drive. At 15.4in it's certainly no ultra-portable and the miserly 1,280 x 800 screen resolution is disappointing but costing only £700 it's not a bad option.

Finally we come to something of a golden oldy. The Eee PC 901 was released a few months ago now but being the first netbook to feature Intel's much vaunted Atom CPU (not to mention it's also our favourite netbook) we felt compelled to give it a video once over.

So, that's this week but there's plenty more to come so be sure to keep an eye out for next week's installment. We'll be mixing up our coverage with a selection of the most important products of the last few months along with some that are hot off the production line so there should be something for everyone. By way of teaser I'll simply say Wind, Ferrari, and One.

Of course, we're always open to suggestions so if you'd like to see us cover a specific product or tweak our presentation - whether in the videos themselves or in these weekly roundups - please let us know in the comments. In the mean time, happy viewing.
