Teufel Introduce New Surround Sound Packages

The direct-selling, German speaker specialists Teufel has just announced two new surround sound packages to replace its previous Concept R and Concept R+S products.

The Columa 300 and Columa 300R are 5.1 home cinema surround sound speaker sets housed in sleek-looking aluminium housing. The two packages come in a variety of different configurations which include both free-standing and wall-mounted speakers and combinations of both - all depending on what your living room set up is. The 300 is designed for spaces up to 30 square metres while 300R is suitable for spaces up to 25 square meters.

The Columa 300 is a passive system with an active subwoofer and each speaker houses two 70mm mid-range drivers and a 19mm mesh dome tweeter. Each of the configurations combine four column speakers with a 180W active subwoofer and a horizontal centre speaker. The ‘S’ set comes with four short columns which can be wall-mounted or free-standing and is priced at £489. The ‘L’ set comes with four longer, free-standing columns and comes in at £569 while the ‘M’ set is a combination of the two, with two short (rear) and two long columns (front) priced at £529.

The Columa 300R range is Teufel's first-ever 5.1 system to pair an integrated AV receiver in the subwoofer with an external control unit, which eliminates the need for an external AV receiver and allows the subwoofer to be placed anywhere in the room. This 5.1 amplifier features 250 watts of RMS power, seven inputs, a Dolby/dts decoder and an AM/FM radio. Again the 300R range is available in three similar configurations with the ‘S’ costing £699, the ‘L’ setting you back £769 and the ‘M’ costing £749.

Both Columa 300 and Columa 300R are available in black or silver, exclusively from Teufel. The speaker specialist is also offering free shipping on all orders placed by 30 January.
