Superman Inspires Alienware

If there’s a major film licence to be had it used to be just the games developers who fought over it, these days it seems the PC manufacturers are also in competition.

Last summer it was the Alienware’s Aurora Star Wars edition that captured the imagination, this time around the same company has repeated the trick with Superman Returns. Bryan Singer’s eagerly anticipated attempt to save the previously floundering flick is starting to take shape and the hype is now building. Cue Alienware…

Both desktop and laptop editions have been etched with the former sporting a similar beautifully painted mosaic of stills as the Star Wars edition while the latter (which I actually prefer) simply recreates the superhero’s famous logo. It is almost impossible to say what is inside either cases (other than they are both Intel based) since the two machines are completely customisable from the ground up. Safe to say however that with chunky $1,899 and $2,539 starting prices for desktop and laptop respectively you’ll be looking at more than double that if you get spec heavy.

10 July is the curiously chosen shipping date for the two machines since the movie premiers two weeks earlier. I guess there’s real faith Singer has pulled this one off. Find out more at Alienware’s uber-flash-heavy dedicated page below.
