With a C905 and C902 already announced should we really be surprised at the leak of a Sony Ericsson 'C903'?
The answer is obviously not and according to the good chaps over at SEMC that is one of the highly prized models we can expect to see unveiled by Sony Ericsson at next month's Mobile World Congress.
Originally codenamed 'Frances', the new Cybershot is apparently a cut down version of the eight megapixel C905 which cuts the resolution down to five megapixels but keeps the likes of PhotoFix, Face Detection, Smile Shutter and aGPS. It also features an active lens cover as used in Sony's compact Cybershot range.
Elsewhere things seem pretty mundane with the design a variation of look we've seen many times before and the screen an oh-so-typical 2.4in QVGA. On the other hand, you won't have to wait long to get your hands on the C903 (given the tech inside there's no reason why you should) with a Q2 timeframe mooted.
Now given that we're talking about a C903, not a C906/7/8 is this a positive sign of the scalability of technology or an indicator that we're now all skint? Discuss...
