Arghhhhh! It’s Metallic! It’s Shiny! It’s available in PINK! Run For Hills! Run For Your… hang on… It’s actually alright.
Announced yesterday, the z610i isn’t your usual pile of RAZR-ish old balls and while it isn’t exactly Mensa material either it does have considerably more of the grey matter to rub together than anything available in these colours has any right to.
For a start this quad band Elle Woods of a handset comes equipped with a two megapixel camera, 220 x 176 262k colour screen, OLED external display and svelte measurements of 95 x 49 x 20mm. Surprisingly for a fashion model ‘Elle’ clearly has a tendency to swallow her food since she weighs in at a chunkyish 110g.
A media player is also part of the educational process with the newly liberal Sony supporting MP3, AAC, AAC+ and eAAC+ formats. Web browsing should be pleasurable thanks to UMTS support and an RSS news reader saves valuable data and surfing time while a 64MB M2 (ok, not that liberal Sony) card is bundled to boost the 16MB of internal memory. POP3 email is supported, Bluetooth (A2DP stereo) is inbuilt and we’ll be seeing it pretty darn soon given the Q3 time frame.
So ‘Elle’ may not be a mastermind, but to look like she does and not have all the technical prowess all of an Amish woodsman is a bleedin’ miracle.
