Shuttle's Cracking Media Center

I’m not demanding everyone build their media PCs like this, but BUILD THEM LIKE THIS!

Designed by consistent class swots Shuttle, the M1000 means you can kick your CD, DVD and even receiver components into the nearest bin. It is a fully featured silent Pentium M based Windows MCE PC which – at just 44 x 35 x 7.8cm – will take up less space than your old VHS recorder.

It has proportionately chunky specs including an M 740 processor, 512MB DDR 333 RAM, nVidia GeForce 6600 graphics card, dual digital TV tuners, 250GB HDD, dual layer DVD writer, SoundBlaster Live! 24bit 7.1 audio, 802.11g for wireless media streaming, FM radio, 8-in-1 card reader, gigabit LAN and (naturally) support for 720p and 1080i high definition playback.

Everything can be controlled by the supplied remote and a rather swanky low profile wireless keyboard with scroll ball adds a nice finishing touch. Since it uses the latest version of Windows Media Center, the M1000 is also going to be compatible with Microsoft’s imminent next gen games console, the Xbox 360.

Being a Shuttle machine, the price isn’t exactly bargain basement at just over £1,400 including VAT, but you know you’ll look da baddest gangsta when MTV Cribs comes a hollerin’.
