While our feelings towards the Samsung Galaxy S, may have been relatively lukewarm that hasn’t stopped it from becoming a major success worldwide.
Hot on its heels then will be the Samsung Galaxy Q and detailed specifications, though no images, have now leaked.
The primary difference is that this will be a keyboard equipped model, in the style of a Blackberry Bold - good news for those who love Android but aren’t sold on touch screens. This arrangement will explain the slightly unusual 720 x 480 resolution and despite the keyboard it will still support multi-touch. Quality should be impressive thanks to SuperAMOLED display tech.
Camera wise, it will better the Galaxy S with an 8-megapixel camera on the rear, complete with LED flash and a 1.3-megapixel camera on the front. 720p HD Video will also be on the cards.
We also like the sound of 16GB of on board memory, 802.11n WiFi, and a mini HDMI output. A 1GHz Hummingbird processor will keep things ticking over and a 1,500mAh battery should ensure it has some staying power.
It will be Android 2.2 Froyo out of the box which, with its improved Exchange support, should sit nicely with the Blackberry type crowd.
It's more an alternative to the Galaxy S rather than a quick-fire successor, but it looks like Samsung will have another winner on its hands whenever this arrives – more details when we get them.
