While all of LucasArts is almost certainly focussed on The Force Unleashed outside interest has begun to waver due to rumours that, come TFU's September release, the internal LusacArts team will stop working on making any more games. It's a sad state of affairs, if true, as we know of at least one working title - an Indiana Jones game of some description (is anyone's money not on a movie tie-in?).
Supposedly the internal studio will see downsizing and a refocusing of its efforts towards thinking up new game designs and ideas which could then be passed off to external developers. While this isn't necessarily a bad thing (LEGO Star Wars and Star Wars: Battlefronts were developed externally and both were fantastic games) it would be a shame to see the internal LucasArts team turned into little more than a think tank.
Shacknews, which first reported on this rumour, wasn't able to coerce much comment out of LucasArts, who said "we're working on the next Indiana Jones game internally". Whether that means just the intellectual aspects, such as design, plot and so forth, as purported, or if everything including the hard coding of the game will happen in-house remains to be seen.
When all's said and done, as long as the quality of the game isn't compromised, it doesn't really matter who the game is developed by or where that takes place. Now roll on another Rogue Squadron instalment!
