Ricoh launches new entry-level camera

Ricoh has never been the most prolific camera manufacturer, seldom launching more than a handful of new models each year, so the announcement of even a new entry-level model is a newsworthy item.

The new Caplio RR750 apparently replaces the RR730, Ricoh’s previous entry-level model launched in November last year. Like its predecessor the RR750 is a 7.16-megapixel camera with a 3x zoom lens and a 2.5-in monitor, but that monitor now has slightly higher resolution with 153,600 pixels.

As well as these features, the RR750 offers 32MB of internal memory, 6cm macro range and no fewer than six (6) scene modes. Power is provided by two AA batteries.

I know you just can’t wait to get your hands on one, but you’ll have to wait a little while. The RR750 doesn’t go on sale until the end of the month, with a RRP of £99.99.
