Orange Brings LG Watch Phone to UK

The LG Watch phone is almost here...

First announced in December last year, the LG GD910 (to use its official name) will now touch down in England after Orange announced today it will bring the spy-tastic device to its network. In a rather intriguing sentence the carrier also added this will be just "one of several new innovative ‘future phones' Orange will be ranging over the next 18 months".

Back to the GD910 itself however and August will be the month when all your Bond/Star Trek dreams can come true. It will be available both "at an exclusive price point on either Orange pay as you go or SIM-only" but no price breakdowns were detailed at this stage.

As for the device itself, it features an elegant 1.43in touchscreen display, a custom finger friendly UI, 7.2Mbit HSDPA and a front facing camera which means video calling will be a central aspect to the device. Audio playback is in there as well plus Bluetooth connectivity which means a wireless headset can be connected so you don't have to hold the watch to your ear for hours on end (yes, it looks cool but will get painful fast).

I'm intrigued, I think you should be too...

It's not a proper spy watch if it doesn't contain a powerful electromagnet.

It's a shame they're not bringing it to Scotland or Wales.

@Joe - I haven't heard any plans to restrict sales in Scotland or Wales

@Gordon - I think Joe was pointing out the continued practice of reporters saying 'England' when they actually mean 'United Kingdom' - Over 20% of the UK populous reside outside of England.

£1000 for the watch plus £40 ppm wonder how many they will sell?
