O2 Offers Selection of PAYG Blackberrys

O2 Offers Selection of PAYG Blackberrys

While it may have lost out on the Blackberry Torch, O2 is consoling itself with the announcement that it will be offering several Blackberrys to pay-as-you-go customers.

O2 is offering the Blackberry Pearl 3G 9105 for £249.99. It’s available in regular black or purple, the latter of which O2 said was exclusive to its network.

You can also choose the £149.99 Blackberry Curve 8520, also in black or purple, while the well-respected Blackberry Bold 9700 is available too, and will cost £349.99. Finally, the BlackBerry Storm 2 9520 is available, for a hefty £399.99.

Customers can find some of them at O2's online store, while those not showing on there can be had by going to an O2 Store.

O2’s Pay and go tariff will include Blackberry Messenger and 500MB of data access included, as long as users top up to £15 a month. Above this, users get 500 texts included; while a £30 a month top-up will garner you unlimited texts. Though at this much a month, surely a contract would be a better option?

O2 has revamped it Blackberry Pay Monthy tariffs too, and for £25 a 24-month contract will offer 500 minutes, unlimited texts, 500MB of internet data and Wi-Fi access too.

Last week T-Mobile started offering the Blackberry Pearl 3G to PAYG customers too, making running a Blackberry a much easier proposition for many.

£349 for a Bold and £319 for a Desire or Galaxy? Surely that pricing can't be right. Regardless of your preference there's a bit of a BB tax going on there.
