It's a credit crunch don't you know... and it comes with no sweet sticky centre.
So O2 is the latest company looking to help ease the burden on our wallets by cutting the price of its pre-pay mobile broadband dongle. Now retailing for a new industry low of just £29.99 without contract (3 had the previous low I believe at £39.99) the dongle also comes with O2's 'Happiness Guarantee' which gives a 50 day return option to customers if they aren't satisfied with the service in any way.
On the downside O2 provides a 3.6Mbit service compared to the 7.2Mbit available from Vodafone but in reality real world speeds shouldn't differ hugely. In addition all users get free access to over 6,000 Cloud WiFi hotspots and plans start from just £15pm for a 3GB monthly allowance, with options for £7.50 per week for 1GB or £2 per day for 500MB also available.
If you're still unconvinced O2 will also look to tempt you with no minimum contract, a 24/7 UK based call centre and WiFi coverage at every major UK airport. Yep, it's impressive - but you just know someone else is now going to step up with a counteroffer any moment...
In related news O2 also has a promotion for non-contract-aphobics charging just £10pm for the first four months of a 24 month, 3GB with free WiFi plan (£15pm afterwards) and the modem comes free.
Perhaps there is some sweet stickiness to the credit crunch after all?
