Nokia Lampoons Apple, iPhone 4 Still Sells 1.7m Units In 3 Days

Are Apple products completely immune from criticism? And not just if you're Hugo...

The saga of the so-called 'Death Grip' iPhone 4 reception issue drags on and Nokia has joined the condemnation with a high profile parody on its blog entitled 'How do you hold your Nokia?'

With such suggestions as (from left to right) the 'Thumb and Finger', 'The Cup', 'The Balance' and 'The four edge grip' the company is clearly having fun at Apple's expense. Be careful throwing stones in glass houses though Nokia, because this old YouTube video shows its own famed E71 is far from immune:

Perhaps even more painful for Nokia, however, is it seems nothing can stop the Apple juggernaut. The company yesterday announced the new handset has shipped a remarkable 1.7m units in just its first 72 hours on sale. Couple that with the fact the majority of interested customers couldn't get their hands on one due to stock shortages while many are put off by the early adopter queues and the figure could have been considerably larger.

"This is the most successful product launch in Apple's history," said Apple {insert your own phrase here} Steve Jobs. "Even so, we apologize to those customers who were turned away because we did not have enough supply."

We'd suggest an apology for the reception issues and the misleading and often contradictory messages that have come out from the company since the iPhone 4 launched would be far more appropriate. iOS 4.01 anyone?
