Back in mid-December, we reported that Nokia’s latest business phone, the E7, had been delayed and had been given the vague-ish and worrying release date of “early 2011.” Today however the Scandinavian phone giant has followed through on its promise, placing the device on pre-order on its Finnish website for the tidy sum of €599.
The site lists February as an estimated shipping date for the slider-phone in Finland, though the UK site and others have not yet listed the phone for pre-order but we are hoping this will happen very soon. The E7 is a business-focused device designed for working on documents on the go and features a 4in touch display, using Nokia ClearBlack tech to make it easier to read outdoors and a slide out QWERTY keyboard.
Back in December Amazon put the device on pre-order in the US at a price of $679 telling customers that they’ll ship it when they get it. There seems to be a high demand for this phone with all this pre-ordering going on. When we looked at the device for the first time at IFA last September we were very impressed with the hardware but less so with the software side of things. Hopefully Nokia has tweaked the Symbian^3 software to make it a bit more responsive.
We’ll keep you updated on when the E7 becomes available in this part of the world.
