There seems to be no stopping LG at the moment; not only does the company have a 47in 3D-capable TV and a 15in OLED TV launching in the coming months, but it's now joined forces with ARM to see the latter parties' processors in the next generation of LG televisions.

As a result, LG claims it "will be able to deliver an entirely new web browsing experience via TV with considerably enhanced interactivity and connectivity." In other words: widgets; albeit widgets with a proven processor platform behind them - specifically the Arm 11 CPU and ARM's Mali-200 and Mali-400 graphics processors.

LG plans to mix Adobe try2way and open source technologies to create its interactive experience. The platform will offer video-on-demand, e-commerce, games and other services, all without the need for an external device. Great if you're one of those "looking for a full Web 2.0 experience from their DTVs." I'd rather use a notebook for my internet access, but each to their own.

No word on when we can expect products using ARM CPUs an GPUs, but late 2009 or early 2010 seems likely.
