The RAZR brand has been milked, milked and milked yet again but finally we have a bonafide successor.

Motorola has at long, long last shown off the 'RAZR 2' it looks pretty good, not jaw dropping, but pretty good.

Most exciting about the handset it is implementation of not one, but two large screens in its traditional clamshell design with a 2.2in QVGA display on the inside and a 2in QVGA display on the outside (has someone been talking to Samsung?). In addition, the handset comes with a redesigned Linux OS, integrated HSDPA connectivity and an HTML compatible web browser. 'Crystal Talk' has also been added to voice calls: a feature which adjusts volume based on ambient noise levels.

As for the exterior it hasn't been neglected either being rebuilt using tougher materials with the hinge alone claimed to withstand up to 120lbs of pressure (but how much for that large 2nd screen?). Despite all this 2mm have been shaved from the original RAZR's thickness.

On the downside we could have expected something meatier than the RAZR 2's 2MP camera and the design is certainly more evolution than revolution. Still, it should be enough to please most estate agents, city traders, marketing men, hairdressers and Audi TT owners when it strolls out sometime around August...
