Memory keys have been getting a lot smarter recently and now they’re on speaking terms thanks to Xmultiple’s clever FlashPoint technology.
FlashPoint is a breakthrough which enables the company’s ShareDrive memory key to also act as a go-between for other USB devices. How it works is incredibly simple: the USB port on the back lets another device plug into it, “Load” then passes files to the ShareDrive, while “Share” transfers them off. A small, rechargeable battery (with charge indicator) powers the ShareDrive so if you want an explanation of the “Power” button I’m afraid you’re far too stupid to be reading this site (opps - thanks for the grammer correction Jill!). (I'll now) Try reading this instead.
Now obviously the amount of data you can transfer to the ShareDrive depends on its capacity, so Xmultiple will be releasing it in incremental sizes from 128MB all the way to 2GB. Street prices have yet to be announced, but these communicative little fellas will no doubt be making a lot of friends when they debut this week.
Technological swapsies have never been so straightforward.
