Everyone's favourite ipod/iPhone imitator/improver is back with more details on the device we all want to know about...
The big news for the outrageous iPhone copy, previously called the 'M8' and now known as the 'miniOne', is that it will come in the same 4GB and 8GB versions as its 'inspiration' and cost significantly less. $310 is the company's official estimate for the 4GBer with the 8GB edition costing $400. For those who aren't particularly snap happy each model will also be available sans camera for just $195 and $285 respectively. An external camera attachment for those who buy the device then catch the photo bug has also been confirmed as in development.
Furthermore Meizu has issued new screenshots (above) which show both the contact lists and text message systems are virtually identical to the iPhone and confirmed they will include its 'fast scroll' mechanism.
Aside from this the leaked tech specs remain the same iPhone beaters: 3G, a 3.3in 720 x 480 touch screen, 3MP camera and PMP functionality. An ARM 11 processor is still going to be at its core and power video recording at 30fps while Bluetooth and WiFi are included.
Less clear is the release date but Meizu remains committed to beating the iPhone into stores (outside the US at least). Of course, Apple doesn't usually announce products a long time prior to release and I'd suggest right now that it is heavily regretting the decision to switch policy.
