Medion may not be the first company to spring to mind as a likely candidate for adding to the throng of Eee PC-esque sub-notebooks, but nonetheless it is doing just that. Called the E1210, the system definitely has the right looks and specification for a pretender to the Eee PC's throne, and it also has some interesting specs inside which may well give it the edge needed to usurp its inspiration.
French site SVM apparently received info from Medion detailing the specs of the new machine, along with some snazzy-looking images. A 10in screen with an unspecified resolution, one would expect 1,024 x 600, should be sported while inside is an Atom processor. Clock speeds haven't been detailed, nor has memory capacity, although it is said that a 1.8in hard drive will be used - as opposed to SSD a la the Eee PC.
Other than that specs are unknown, but it's pretty safe to assume that Medion's E1210 is likely to be fairly similar to the MSI Wind - they even look pretty much the same. On the plus side, Medion is said to have confirmed that Europe will be getting the E1210 for definite. The down side is that the estimated price of around €500 (£400-ish) is a bit steep unless the specs are a fair bit higher than rival systems.
