Apple has gone ahead and rolled an update to its MacBook Pros out on the Apple store. So far as we can tell these updates were uncovered back in February, but for whatever reason Apple has chosen not to make a song and dance about them until now. On the bill? Faster CPUs and upgraded touchpads.

As seen on the MacBook Air (review not coming soon), multi-touch navigation pads are sported. Rejoice that you no longer have to compromise on other features to get your hands on what is undeniably an interesting feature. Hopefully this addition will make its way to the MacBook line too.

Those CPU upgrades, if you haven't guessed already, are to faster and cooler Penryn chips. The 15in MacBook Pro has the option of a 2.4GHz T8300, a 2.5GHz T9300, or a 2.6GHz T9500, the latter two boasting 6MB of L2 cache as opposed to the 3MB of the T8300. The 17in system drops the 2.4GHz CPU option and offers the choice to specify a 1,920 x 1,200 LED backlit panel.

Price-wise the new MacBook Pro line starts from £1,299 and £1,799 for the 15in and 17in versions respectively. If you're interested you can head over to Apple's website and snap one up now.
