MSI Wind Top AE2010 Revealed

MSI's doing a decent job of mixing things up a little at the moment. As well as planning to be first to market with its Pine Trail-fitted U150 netbook, the company is also taking on the growing range of Atom-based nettop all-in-one PCs with the not-at-all-Atom-based Wind Top AE2010.

In a similar manner to the Asus E22, the Wind Top AE2010 uses a ‘real' desktop processor a chipset in place of Atom. In the AE2010's we find a 1.5GHz, dual-core AMD Athlon 3250e (the last character standing for efficient, i.e. low power), 4GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive and ATI Radeon HD3200 dedicated graphics.

The 20in display has an impressive 1,600 x 900 pixel resolution which is touch-sensitive - although whether that's resistive or capacitive isn't mentioned. A DVD drive is present and connectivity is as you'd expect - Draft-N Wi-Fi, Ethernet, four USB ports, an eSATA port and - curiously - a VGA input and output{/i}.

While the AE2010 is confirmed as coming to the UK, pricing isn't yet available. Working from the $650 US MSRP, though, we can take a guess and I reckon £499 sounds about right.
