MSI, the computer motherboard manufacturer has announced the creation of the Diamond Club. This is a reward for purchasers of its high-end Diamond Edition motherboard. Based on the nVidia nForce 4 SLI chipset, this also offers an external Wi-Fi and Bluetooth aerial and a Creative Sound Blaster Live! 7.1 channel soundcard down on the board.
A Diamond VIP card will be included in every K8N Diamond box. Every Diamond VIP card is assigned a unique VIP membership number that can be used to register at the Diamond club web site http://diamondclub.msi.com.tw.
The main privilege of being part of the Diamond club is access to a forum where a dedicated MSI engineer will provide high priority support for members. Users are also invited to share their experience and pass on their views to other members. Guests will be able to view the forum but not post.
Also available via the forums will be exclusive BIOSs, that are tweaked for performance and overclocking on the Diamond motherboard who technical articles such as performance tweaking guides will also be published first on the Diamond Club web site. Additionally customers who register early will receive an exclusive Diamond jacket as a complimentary gift.
The concept of an exclusive club for a motherboard might seem to be a bit of a gimmick at first, but it will actually be reassuring for owners of a high-end board that there is a forum where they can get technical support, direct from the manufacturer and from other like-minded users. And while MSI isn't necessarily the first name that comes to mind when you think of performance and overclocking, boards like the Diamond and initiatives such as the Diamond Club could change that, by helping to build a community around its products.
