MSI Launches GX623 & GX633 Gaming Notebooks

MSI has updated its gaming laptop series with two new models, the GX623 and GX633 for Intel and AMD CPU fans respectively.

Both laptops sport similarly 15.4in chassis, with the components inside each different. Those equate to the GX623's Intel core 2 Duo CPU and AMD ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670 graphics and the GX633's AMD Turion X2 CPU and nVidia GeForce GT 130M graphics.

Otherwise both systems pack up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM, can be fitted with Blu-ray drives and offer up to 500GB of hard drive capacity. Gigabit Ethernet, Draft-N Wi-Fi and an array of USB ports and an eSATA connector should keep the GX623 and GX633 sufficiently connected.

MSI's Turbo Drive technology enables the CPU clock speed in either machine to be ramped up when connected to the mains. An ECO button toggles between different levels of performance when running on battery power, giving either enhanced gaming or battery life as needed.

I own the quad version of the GT 725 and I love it. I had never heard of MSI until the search was on for a replacement for my previous 4 year old laptop and the build quality is surprisingly good.

Cheaper than the competition, performance that competes with the competition - what isnt too like?!
