Is it a plane? Is it a rocket? No, its just the super-fast latest Android-powered LG phone straight from South Korea – the LGLU3000.
While there is not much known about this handset on this side of the world so far, one thing seems very apparent. It is fast, really fast. The good guys in the East have given us a nice display of just how fast the phone is with a video comparison against an iPhone4 and a Samsung Galaxy S. The video (see below) sees a YouTube app being launched simultaneously on the three devices and without a doubt the fastest is the LU3000. The next task given the phones is to play a video and again the LU3000 is far and away the fastest of the three devices.
What is known about the device is that it will feature a 3.8in WVGA IPS screen, runs on Android 2.2, has a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, has an HDMI out with support of 1080p video and powered by an OMAP 3630 1GHz.
Whether or when we will see this speed demon over here in the UK is unkown but if it does appear it will probably be under the moniker of Optimus. While judging a phone based on a video on YouTube is not the most scientific of review methods, its all we’ve got so far and we have to say we like the look of the LU3000 so fingers crossed it will appear here soon.
