While white goods aren't our primary focus here at TrustedReviews we do like to cover the original and the innovative and LG's second generation direct drive washing machines have both these qualities in abundance.
Following on from the company's groundbreaking originals the new line up becomes the industry's first standard size washing machines to take a massive 9Kg load. This is 50 per cent more than a standard machine in its class and LG has also embossed the drum to better protect detail fabrics and reduce friction.
"Capacity is becoming one of the most important factors when choosing a new washer," said LG Marketing Manager Simona Allan. "Today, people naturally want to spend less time doing chores and more time with their families and loved ones. LG's new largest capacity steam washer allows them to do just that."
Additional size is just one of the benefits on show here however since the line also incorporates the latest version of LG's much lauded A++ rated Direct Drive system which claims to use 35 per cent less water and 21 per cent less energy than a conventional machine. In addition, the drive is connected directly to the drum minimising vibration and making for virtually silent running, while a 20 minute steam ‘refresh program' uses steam to remove creases from garments. Men all over the world, I can tell you're feeling the love.
Got allergies? There's even an 'Allergy Care Program' endorsed by the British Allergy Foundation which utilises the same steam technology to help eliminate allergens, mites and residual detergent.
The new LG Direct Drive range goes on sale immediately with prices ranging from £599 from the Direct Drive only edition to £799 for the Steam Direct Drive. Washing machines have never excited us quite so much...
