Not content with launching the world's slimmest smartphone, the LG Optimus Black, with a new type of screen technology, LG has also announced it will be showing off a new 4.3in smartphone display featuring glasses-free 3D here at CES.
With a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, the LCD display uses a parallax barrier to split the image in two and provide an image for each eye. LG claims the display provides smoother, brighter, cross-talk free images, though we're not entirely sure what they're comparing to here.
We'll hopefully get hands-on with the new panel when we visit LG's booth later in the show. For now we shall simply speculate on why anyone would want a 3D display on their phone/tablet/etc.
