If I had to sum up the latest game announcement from the Lucas Arts world in three words they would have to be ‘pure, unadulterated, awesome.’ Basically, the principle, in my mind, runs that Lego is fantastic, Lego Star Wars I and II were brilliant and the Indiana Jones films were astoundingly good. Therefore a combination of the two should amount to nothing short of perfection. In development by Traveller’s Tales, the studio responsible the Lego Star Wars games, Lego Indiana Jones will take place over the course of the three films and offer fans the usual mix of charm and humour we've come to expect from both the games and films.
To quote director of TT, Tom Stone “Indiana Jones is the perfect character for the next LEGO-based videogame adventure.” The worst aspect of this announcement is the release date, which is pinned as summer 2008, giving me (and everyone else) almost a whole year to wait for what should turn out to be yet another fine Lego creation. For those of you who don’t share my anticipation, all I can ask is how? Frankly, I can’t wait to see what film Lucas Arts license for a Lego makeover next!
