HTC TyTN Successor Gets Photography & Specs

I first brought you a glimpse of the 'Kaiser' back in January but our TyTN follow-up has a whole lot more information this time round.

Now known as the HTC '4550' (mildly blurry leaked picture above) it does just enough to make existing owners of the TyTN (also referred to as the T-Mobile 'Vario II', Vodafone 'v1605' and Orange 'SPV M3100') a little green around the gills.

Most apparent is the fact that it appears to open from the opposite side to the TyTN, something which actually makes sense when you think about it and the exterior has been restyled to make the call and end call buttons more accessible.

That said, the more significant changes are inside with an integrated GPS module, increased system memory of 64MB RAM, 256MB ROM and an update to Windows Mobile 6. The dimensions have also been slightly reduced from 112.5 x 58 x 22mm to 110x58x18 mm and the weight dropped by 16g to 160g.

Elsewhere everything is as you were: 400MHz CPU, 2.8in QVGA screen (if that had been improved I'd be really jealous), 2MP camera, VGA camera for video calls, HSDPA, wireless b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 and USB.

June is rumoured to be the release date and while, given the choice, I would happily swap my TyTN for a 4550, if I see one being carried around the streets of London I won't be inclined to punch that person, just shove him a little.
