Only days after news leaked that Windows Phone 7 may be released 6-8 weeks ahead of schedule, we now have some firmer news on what handsets we may be seeing at launch. While rifling through two XML documents providing MMS specifications, Twitter user conflipper found reference to Mondrian and Mozart and the fact they'll be using Internet Explorer Mobile 7. Unless Microsoft has a sudden change of heart and releases this version of its mobile browser to existing versions of Windows Phone then it's safe to assume Mondrian and Mozart will indeed by Windows Phone 7 devices.
Little in the way of specs is revealed by these documents but what we can tell is both devices will have 480 x 800 pixel screens and neither will have a keyboard. However, previous leaks have suggested the above picture is of the Mondrian and that it will feature a 1.3GHz Qualcomm QSD8650A/B Snapdragon processor. It's also reckoned it will have a rather large 4.3in screen and sport HD video recording and a 5 megapixel camera (like pretty much every other handset around at the moment then).
All told, it looks like HTC's affair with Android hasn't affected its marriage to Microsoft and the pair will once again be merrily churning out new-born handsets for us all to go goo goo over come September/October time. Ah, isn't it sweet.
