T-Mobile is the first UK network to announce that it will offer the HTC Desire HD, launched just yesterday after months of speculation.
The handset will be free on a £40 a month, 2-year contract and will be available from October 2010. However, exactly how many call minutes, text minutes, and most crucially how much data allowance you’ll get for this has yet to be confirmed. This will wait until just before the handset becomes available – no doubt as T-Mobile wants first want to see what hand its competitors will play.
As the new European flagship HTC product, the HTC Desire HD has stirred up quite a fuss. This is in no small part for its huge 4.3in display, 1GHz processor, 8 megapixel camera, 720p video recording capability, Android 2.2 OS enhanced with HTC’s highly regarded Touch Sense, and DLNA compatibility.
Crucially, you’ll be able to pick it up on that £40 a month contract without having to pay for the phone, which is in stark contrast to all equivalent iPhone 4 deals. These smartphone battles just don't get old do they?
