Fujitsu Preps FMV F-A50 All-In-One

Fujitsu may be a bit behind the pack (Dell, Sony and Gateway for example) in producing an iMac look-alike, but my word has it done a good job of it. Really the only valid comparison is an aesthetic one, and by that I mean that the Fujitsu FMV-A50 looks stunning, absolutely stunning. Not to say that the specifications aren't up to par.

The screen is a 16in affair with a 1,366x 768 resolution, a 16:9 aspect ratio you may notice, making the FMV-F50 a decent proposition for watching films on. That is backed up by components, which include a 2.1GHz T8100 Core 2 Duo processor (a Penryn chip nonetheless) 2GB of RAM and Intel X3100 graphics, slightly disappointing but this isn't a gaming machine.

Elsewhere a slot-loading DVD drive, PC card slot and card reader are also featured as are a quintet of USB ports. Also on the connectivity front, Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are sorted so no complaints there.

Continuing with this good design Fujitsu has also made the stand adjustable, allowing the screen (this is in fact the entire PC) to be raised, lowered and tilted - take note Apple. Incidentally if white just doesn't cut it, there is also a pink coloured ‘limited edition' version which I think looks quite good - although worryingly that probably says more about me than the paintjob.

So, the FMV-A50 looks good and has a decent set of specifications making it a pretty desirable machine. As you might have guessed, that means no release date or pricing outside of Japan is yet announced. If you are in the right geographic area, 17th of May is the release date, but pricing isn't mentioned.

Come on now Fujitsu, sell this in the UK. This is just what we want for our bedrooms and kitchens.
