FinePix JZ300 and JZ500

FinePix JZ300 and JZ500

These two models are the first of a new series for Fujifilm. The JZ range will be affordable long-zoom compact cameras with an emphasis on style. Both new models feature 10x optical zoom f/3.3-5.6 lenses with 28mm-equivalent wide-angle settings, 720p HD video recording with mono audio, 3200 ISO maximum sensitivity, auto scene recognition, tracking AF, advanced face detection and Picture Search in playback mode.

The JZ300 has a 12.1-megapixel 1/2.3-inch CCD sensor, while the JZ500 has a similarly-sized 14.1 megapixel sensor. The more powerful model also features face recognition and pet face detection, capable of recognising both cats and dogs, although I imagine it will probably have a problem with goldfish.
