HP may have announced some of the crazier news we've seen recently with its email loving printers, but Epson is striking back with raw speed.
The company has unveiled the 'Stylus Office BX625FWD' - a printer it describes as the World's fastest all-in-one inkjet for models under 600 euros (£495). This is a pretty specific category, but we like it because it is actually the category the vast majority of TR readers reside in. Furthermore, the BX625FWD will retail for £209.99.
So what does this claim entail? In short: business-quality documents at 15 pages per minute mono or 7.1 colour ppm based on ISO/IEC 24734 scores. Furthermore the model can load up to 250 A4 sheets at a time and Epson claims colour costs are less than any entry level laser printer (below 299 euros).
On top of this you'll get fax, copy, print and scanning functionality with WiFi and Ethernet connectivity (including scan to and fax from any PC on a network) and support for double-sided printing from scans, copies and faxes. The BX625FWD also uses Epson's established DURABrite Ultra Ink which is designed to be resistant to water, highlighter pens, smudges and fading.
You will have to wait until August to get your hands on one, though we may actually have found a printer we could get excited about... in our less socially acceptable moments.
