Epson Makes Cheap To Run All-In-One

With their remarkable price reductions all-in-one printers are really the only way to go these days for the small office/home office (SOHO) user and now they’re getting cheaper to run too…

The Epson Stylus DX7000F has all the features and functionality you would expect from an all-in-one device: high quality colour prints (up to 5760dpi), A4 flatbed scanner (up to 1200 x 2400dpi), 33.6Kbps fax, integrated flash memory card reader and PictBridge compatibility but just as importantly it won’t cost the earth in cartridges.

Despite using its well established Durabrite Ultra Ink and Micro Piezo technology, the real benefit here is that Epson has split the refills into four individual cartridges which cost just £6.99. The supplied printer software then measures the ink levels in each and means you only need to replace the colour you use.

Despite its economy, the DX7000F still looks to be a performance orientated device with Epson claiming it will print up to 27 pages per minute and produce a photo print in 29 seconds (though the usual believe-it-when-you-see-it claims apply). As always the Epson Creativity Suite is bundled along with the noteworthy ‘ABBYY FineReader OCR’ software which can scan copy into text.

The DX7000F goes on sale immediately for an extremely tempting £119.99 and it might just brighten up your Christmas… that said, if it does then you're incredibly sad and I don't want to come around your house.
