Dell Patronises Women with 'Della' Microsite

Dell, what have you done?

Maybe, just maybe you could have safely launched a microsite dedicated to flogging your kit to Women without it coming across as patronising. Sadly, Della isn't not one such endeavour.

Exactly why the fairer sex need a specific website to tell then why they should buy a netbook - so they can download new recipes without leaving the kitchen perhaps? - is anyone's guess. I'm pretty sure I'm right in saying computers are used by both genders in the same way for pretty much the same purposes - browsing Facebook and looking at pictures of cats doing humorous things with captions on them.

Apparently that's not the case though. No, according to the Della site, women even need to be told that they can: "Add storage to your netbook with memory cards or memory keys." Thanks for the revelation, Holmes.

Luckily, based on this evidence, no women will be tech savvy enough to find the Della site anyway…

To be fair I have heard that they are also producing a dedicated microsite for male middle managers and web designers. Dell-end I think they're calling it...

Oh dear...oh very dear.

That's hilarious. What a horrific misjudgement & waste of money. I just hope this was a woman's idea!
