Following on from their unveiling of the flipping Inspiron Duo, Dell have today put a snazzy new video on YouTube showing off exactly what the Duo can do. In case you missed the anouncement in September, the Duo will be a cross between a tablet and a netbook. Rather than the traditional twist and flip screen of previous tablet/netbook combinations - such as with the HP TouchSmart tx2 - the Duo's screen sits within a fixed frame and flips vertically on hinges mounted in the sides. This makes it more robust and also allows the device to be slimmer.
At the announcement in September, a Dell exec showed off a gaudy burnt orange-encased model which still had some rough edges. In the new video however, Dell are showing off a sleek new device in a fetching turquoise case which leaves viewers waiting until the final seconds to see the impressive flip function.
The video has obviously been posed to whet the appetite of consumers and we here at TrustedReviews are certainly eager to get our hands on this device. The form factor allows for its slim dimensions while retaining all the functions of a touchscreen tablet and a compact netbook.
With just about 50-odd days left before year end for Dell to bring this to the market and keep their original promise, expect some announcements very soon as they will no doubt want to cash in on the Christmas market.
